Foldable phones are now more affordable, thanks to brands like Motorola and Tecno. Infinix has joined the fray with the Zero Flip, priced at Rs. 49,999. It comes with a large cover screen and a big battery.
Does the Zero Flip offer good value against Motorola’s models? How does it perform in everyday use? I’ve spent weeks with the phone, and here’s what I think.
Infinix Zero Flip Design: A Touch of Luxury

Infinix has made the Zero Flip stylish, despite its affordable price. It has flat sides, rounded corners, and curved edges. The back is made of glass, with a unique texture in both colors.
The Black Rock edition has a sand-like finish that resists fingerprints. Gorilla Glass 7 protects the back. The phone feels solid and looks premium, whether folded or open.
The hinge cover shows a pattern and the Infinix logo. It can fold up to 400,000 times. But, it doesn’t have an IP rating, so it’s not waterproof. Opening the phone one-handed is hard because of its flat sides. Yet, the hinge allows for various angles, from 30 to 150 degrees.
The volume and power buttons are on the right side, with the power button also being a fingerprint scanner. The scanner worked well most of the time, with only a few errors.
At the bottom, you’ll find a USB Type-C port, a loudspeaker, a SIM tray slot, and a microphone. There’s another microphone at the top.
When opened, the inner display has noticeable bezels. There’s a slit flash for selfies near the earpiece. This keeps the layout practical.
The design crease is similar to Motorola’s Razr 50 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6. It adds to the phone’s premium feel.

Infinix Zero Flip: A Blend of Flexibility and Size

The Infinix Zero Flip has amazing specs for its displays. The cover screen is one of the biggest around, with a 3.64-inch AMOLED panel. It can get very bright, making it great for use indoors and outside in the sun.
This outer display always shows something and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. It’s tough against scratches. You can change wallpapers and add interactive pets, but there’s no widget option. The screen has cutouts for cameras and an LED flash.
The internal display is flexible and big, at 6.9 inches. It has a 120Hz refresh rate and can get very bright. You can choose from different refresh rates and color modes.

The screen is tall, which means you’ll see black bars when watching 16:9 or 4:3 content. It supports Widevine L1 for streaming HD on Netflix. But, the screen can get smudgy.
Software: A Room for Growth

Infinix promises updates and security patches for two and three years, respectively. But, the Zero Flip starts with Android 14, limiting updates to Android 16. It has few pre-installed apps, which is nice.
You can run over 100 apps on the cover screen. But, watching videos there isn’t great. Apps are arranged vertically, and the top section shows time and notifications.
Infinix Zero Flip
The Infinix Zero Flip’s foldable design offers new features. When folded, it can show different content on each half of the screen. This is useful in apps like Camera and Gallery.

Performance: A Bit Temperamental

The Zero Flip has a 6nm Dimensity 8020 SoC. It handles daily tasks and gaming well. It’s not the strongest chip, but it works fine for everyday use.

But, the device can get hot, mainly around the camera area. This happens during heavy tasks or camera use. The cover screen also gets warm, focusing heat on the camera.
The Zero Flip performs well in gaming. I enjoyed playing BGMI and Real Racing 3 without any issues. The phone heats up a bit during intense gaming, but it’s not a big problem.
The phone has a hybrid stereo speaker system. The earpiece acts as the second speaker, making sounds loud and clear. But, there’s some crackling at the highest volume. Call quality is good, with no problems with the microphone or earpiece.
Camera Capabilities: A Solid Performer

The Zero Flip has a dual-camera setup and a selfie camera. All three have 50-megapixel resolution and autofocus. The primary sensor is a Samsung ISOCELL GN5, and the ultrawide uses a Hynix Hi5022. The front camera uses a Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor.
Opening the hinge to 90 degrees switches to DV mode. You can also use the external cameras for selfies. The camera app is easy to use, with all modes clearly shown. You can find more options like Vlog mode and Super Night mode under “More”.
Infinix Zero Flip Camera Performance
The main camera takes great photos in daylight. They are sharp, detailed, and colorful. The 2x zoom shots are good in bright light but softer than standard shots.
The ultrawide camera also does well in daylight. It has good detail and colors, though slightly different from the main camera.
In low light, the primary camera does okay. Photos have some noise, but decent details. The Super Night mode helps a bit, but 2x low-light shots are not great.
The ultrawide lens struggles in low light. It produces softer, noisier images.
The selfie camera works well in daylight. But, the outer camera takes better selfies.
Video Performance
The Zero Flip can record 4K videos at 30fps with the outer cameras. The selfie camera can do 4K at 60fps. But, there’s no stabilization at these settings.
Daylight videos from the main camera are good. They have accurate colors and a good dynamic range. Low-light videos are okay, but need plenty of light. The ultrawide camera’s videos are softer and less detailed, worse in low light.

The Infinix Zero Flip has a battery that beats many expensive phones. It lasts longer than the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Motorola Razr 50. But, it didn’t quite meet my expectations, lasting about 15 hours and 30 minutes in our test.
In everyday use, it lasts a full day. You’ll have about 20% left by the end of the day. The 70W charger that comes with it is fast. It can go from 0 to 100% in about 55 minutes, or 60% in 30 minutes.
Infinix Zero Flip Overview
The Infinix Zero Flip is a great deal for its price. It has a big cover screen, good cameras, and a battery that lasts all day. It’s a good choice if you’re okay with some trade-offs.
Compared to others, the Motorola Razr 50 is pricier but has a smaller battery. The Tecno Phantom V Flip 2 is cheaper but has fewer features. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 is better but costs almost twice as much.
